Accessibility

Last reviewed 18 August 2026

This site was built to be usable with a keyboard, a screen reader and at high zoom. Here is what that means in practice, and how to reach us if any of it gets in your way.

This is not legal advice. These pages describe how this website and this business actually operate. If something here matters to your transaction, ask us — and for anything that turns on the law, ask your own attorney.
01The approach

Built in, not bolted on

The target is WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Accessibility here is a property of the markup rather than a layer added on top of it.

There is no accessibility overlay on this site, and that is deliberate. Overlay widgets — the ones offering a floating accessibility button — do not fix an inaccessible site, frequently interfere with the assistive technology someone is already using, and have been the subject of complaints from disabled users and of litigation. The previous version of this site carried one. It has not been carried over.

We do not claim to be "ADA compliant". Nobody can honestly certify that with a badge. What we can tell you is what was built into this site, and how to reach us if any of it gets in your way.

02What was built

Specifics, not assurances

  • Keyboard. Every interactive control is reachable and operable by keyboard, in a sensible order, with a visible focus outline. There is a skip link to the main content.
  • Structure. Semantic landmarks, one H1 per page and heading levels that descend without skipping, so a screen reader's outline matches what is on screen.
  • Forms. Every field has a real label. Errors are announced, described in words, and never signaled by color alone.
  • The service-status panel on the request form is a polite live region, so a change is announced without stealing focus, and it carries a marker and a written status as well as a color.
  • Color. Text contrast is checked against the WCAG 2.2 AA thresholds rather than judged by eye.
  • Information is never color-only. Report severity carries a written label as well as a color, which is also why it survives printing.
  • Zoom and reflow. The layout reflows to a single column and holds at 400% zoom without horizontal scrolling.
  • Motion. Reveal animations respect prefers-reduced-motion, and — importantly — content is visible without JavaScript. Nothing is hidden waiting for a script to succeed.
  • Images. Meaningful images carry alt text describing what they show; decorative ones are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Weight. No webfonts, no frameworks, no third-party scripts — which matters on a slow connection or an old device more than most accessibility features do.
03An ongoing effort

Not a box we have ticked

Accessibility was considered while this site was designed and built, and it is checked as part of our normal work rather than treated as a one-off exercise. It is an ongoing effort, and we expect to keep finding things worth improving.

The sample report and the calculators are the most complex parts of this site, and the most likely place for a problem to be hiding. If you meet one there, we would particularly like to hear about it.

Documents. We publish two documents as PDFs — the sample inspection report and the solar transaction checklist. The full content of both is also on this site as ordinary web pages, so a PDF is never the only way to reach the information. If any document we publish or send you is difficult to use, tell us and we will provide the information in another format wherever it is practicable to do so.

04If something does not work

Tell us and we will fix it

If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, please tell us what page it was and what happened. It is treated as a defect, not a feature request.

And if the website is in the way, skip it — call (951) 900-4999 or email hello@solariq360.com and we will take the request over the phone. Nothing on this site is the only route to us.
